Review
Do you have a globe of the Earth at home?
Do you know the location and information about the major cities in the world?
Cities of Earth 3D Screensaver brings a globe and information to your desktop.
This unique screensaver is not only that: a screensaver.
This can be considered a very good information source regarding the major cities of our world, and more.
There are many cities included, and you can even add more.
Maybe you can even add your own city! In the developer’s page, there are instructions on how to download the required data for many cities of many countries.
You will be watching our beautiful planet from outer space.
The view is awesome. The black background spotted with stars and a couple of suns give the scene a very realistic feeling.
The Earth starts to rotate, and immediately it begins to light up different places on the surface, and at the same time the name of the city and some information about it, start scrolling down on the right side.
As the planet turns, some cities turn off and new ones turn on, showing their names and info to your right.
It really includes a lot of different cities.
But there is still more.
Cities of Earth 3D Screensaver can be configured, as I already mentioned, to display only the major cities, all the cities in its database, and even your own.
But, something that attracted me much, was the ability to speed up or slow down the speed of rotation.
That way, I was able to speed up a little while the ocean was in front of me, and slow it down to appreciate all the cities highlighted.
Sometimes it tried to show many cities at almost the same time, and it got a bit crowded on the screen
This screensaver can be very educational for your kids, and even for grown-ups.
You will surely not only enjoy it, but will also USE it regularly. |
- Very informative.
- It contains MANY cities in MANY countries.
- The speed control is a great idea.
|
- When you want to see many cities, sometimes they overlap or change to quickly.
